Our Story
Acme Fence has been a Louisiana staple since 1955, built on the values of quality craftsmanship and customer care. Founded by John “Buddy” Schaffer, Acme Fence began as a passion for building reliable, durable fences for the community. Today, we remain a family-owned and operated business with a commitment to excellence across three generations.
First Generation
John "Buddy" Schaffer, a proud WWII veteran, returned home in the 1950s after serving overseas in the Pacific. Buddy focused on building fences that would stand the test of time. This dedication to craftsmanship became the foundation of Acme Fence, which quickly became a trusted name for homeowners seeking quality fencing solutions. Buddy mainly focused on the residential market, which represented 87% of the jobs he completed.
Second Generation
Under the leadership of Buddy’s son, Craig, Acme expanded its services to meet the growing demand for commercial, industrial, and high security fencing. The second generation carried forward the legacy of quality craftsmanship. During this time, Acme Fence completed many successful projects ranging from the worlds fair, prisons, airports, chemical plants, post offices, schools, and government facilities. The company saw a dramatic turn from 13% commercial to 91% commercial.
Third Generation
Now under the leadership of C.J. and Cody Schaffer, Acme Fence continues to evolve by both being certified specialists in gate automation and access controls. They now stock most parts for all the popular brands along with adding a few vehicles designated specifically for 24/7 emergency service. Ever since they were kids, their grandfather and father taught them the importance of taking care of their customers and providing exceptional customer service. They both are college graduates of LSU and Springhill.
